1/8" stereo plug to dual mono 1/4" should sort you out

You can get a pair of RCA -> 1/4" adaptors at hifi shops (cheap). Why? They're just different, is all: RCA is OK for hi-fi use, but 1/4" plugs are tougher.

um, digital ports? so far we're talking pure Analogue audio so far, that's what all the cables we've discussed look like they're for. Make sure you're clear on what port does what on your player(s), we can't see what they look like from here..!

Analogue will do the job just fine. Look for a "Line Out" port, but if your player's only port says "Phones" that'll work too, set volume to ~1/2. (But it might not sound as good as a proper Line port.)

If a player really has a Digital Out port, that's a whole 'nother question, NEVER wire up a Digital port to any Analogue port, you will only get noise and/or damage. On the MPC1000, only the marked Digital In and Out ports work that way, all the rest are Analogue only.
