What I Need to install External CD-Rom for an MPC 2000XL?

My Floppy drive is broken and I decided to put External CD-Rom in my MPC 2000xl. What do I need?

-What Operating System Version?

-Some upgrade?

-How hard it is to install?

You are not gonna put the whole external drive inside the MPC are you? That is not going to work out too good if that is your intentions? You need a internal drive similar to the size of the floppy drive (floppy, zip, jaz, CF, etc.).

Oh yeah, that's nice. A HD50 to 50 pin Centronics connector and you are in business. You will have to use it externally (through the SCSI port) and I don't think you will be able to save to CDs (someone who knows chime in) Oh yea... Like Lamp said you may need a Terminator, if the drive isn't auto-terminating (I doubt it's auto-terminating).

If your floppy drive is broken install a new zip or mcd drive in the MPC, the cd rom is only for loading sounds into the mpc you can't save your information on the rom drive.
