its the simple things

u think akai should focus a little bit more on some simple things for there new os. along with all the bug fixes i think some simple functions from the xl would be a great addition to this machine, for example changing the click sound, or atleast being able to make it louder! Also correct me if i'm wrong but on the xl cant you change the length of the count in from like 1 measure to whatever. if so i think that would also be a nice feature

Totally new to the 2500, running the 1.24 os, and yes I agree, this is a fundamental issue of a sequencer, controlling the count in behavior.

I don't think so,now akai are focus on the 5000,when a new mpc comes,the latest have no updates!

I agree about the click...its terrible! You can barely hear it, it 'clips' audio whilst in record mode making it harder to play in time. I think a volume level, even better the option to change the tone to a higher/clearer pitch would really help.

Also, please please can we get a quicker trim start/end point function? The (very poor, very cheap jog wheel for £950!!) The increments are so small it takes forever, I use the numeric pad now but still hassle.

A large increment feature? Or an Auto Start/End function? Does Auto L do this infact?? (sorry...nubey!)

Id like more control like zooming in over the chopshop lines, to edit quicker too.
A Recycle! style chopshop would be better, where you can actually move and delete or add lines would be great.

If u press taptempo while scrolling the increments go ten times faster. U can also use the sliders while holding the after button.
With JJOS it's far easier to zoom in and out. By zooming out u the increments will change with higher values.

Try out the free version and u won't regret it.

Also on akai os, if you press the + key (or is it shift and +?) the trim increments increase.

So I should get JJ os then? Fundamentally, what else is better about it?
I like the idea of zooming being more accurate....

There are many reasons why JJOS is 100x better than the Akai OS.

Versions 1 + 2 do not seem to be available for the 2500, why?

I can't really afford XL so soon after shelling out for the MPC!

I'll just get the free version for now...

if you have 2500 or 1k and you aint got jj os, you missin out big time.

i agree akai dropped the ball and the natural, logical, normal progression would have been for them to include all the features of the 2xl and expand on that, but no, instead, they left shit out. wtf.
