OS-X to mpc60 floppy transfer = success

Yeah, I'm thinking that google would be a much better bet. It's funny that RS-16X was even in the topic title and it still didn't show in the search. I even tried "mac", "seishu", "transfer". Well, I guess you have to be really general with your searches.

And, yeah, I deleted my post because I figured I'm just as bad if I don't come through with something substantive. I wanted to come back bearing the goods.

I guess I have a soft heart because I know how it was to be in his position years ago.

And, for those not accustomed to using google advanced searches, here's the query that I just tried on google that worked:

rs-16x site:http://mpc-forums.com

Put that into the google query field and that's it.

google this:



It will show all pages from the "MPC3000, MPC60" forum.




This will search foobar in all pages from "MPC3000, MPC60" forum.




This will search for a exact match of "RS-16X" in all pages from "MPC3000, MPC60" forum.

I format the floppy in the MPC 3.10, but OSX doesn't recognize it. I'm using a usb floppy drive.

If I use factory formated disks, OSX recognize but the MPC doesn't. If I format in OSX (DOS), the MPC doesn't recognize too.

I can't get both the MPC and OSX to access the floppy disk. Can anyone help?

could be drive , could be os.

are you using dd/ disks or hd disks?
do you have some tape over the "hd" whole in the floppy?

I did it, the problem was with the HD disk. I used tape to make it DD and it worked. Here's the process step by step:

1) Format the DD disk in the MPC
2) Load it in the USB floppy
3) Create a program using RS-16X (instructions here: http://mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php?t=114875)
4) Export the program (instructions here http://homepage.mac.com/seishu/files/he ... t_MPC.html)
When exporting the PGM File Format must be set to MPC3000, Samples to SND and Auto File Name Truncation checked.
5) Copy PGM and SND files to floppy disk
6) Load in MPC

I bought a 60II from fellow member "Stonesthrow" last week and it came in today. I use a 2008 iMac with 10.6.2 and I bought the exact usb floppy drive that Lord Toranaga mentioned (Dynex DX-EF101) and everything works great as far as transferring samples and programs between OSX and the 60. Using RS-16X I just convert wavs to .snd files, drag it on the floppy disk icon which shows up on my iMac desktop, then load it on the 60....big up to Lord Toranaga.
