Questions on MPC

Hello im incredibly interested in getting the MPC1000. This will be my first mpc, i haven't purchased it yet because i want to know more about it so i found this site. I experienced a mpc for the first time when i saw my friends playing around with it and realized that i would really enjoy going into it. i understand it will take alot of getting used to in figuring out the machine but im willing to do that. a couple questions i have:
Does the machine come with programed sounds?
I know you can add your own but how do you do that?
Is the manual that comes with it useful?

it doesn't have sounds built in but it does have internal memory so you can save sounds on the mpc without loading a card. it takes a cf card and it has a usb port.

Oh ok, now how do i get sounds? is there a site i can download from?

If you buy it brand new AKAI provides a CF card with sounds.

you can get sounds from anywhere and everywhere. look around.
