Pre-Amp Question

Not sure if this belongs here or in Production Techniques


What would benefit my sound more

Turntable - Presonus Bluetube Pre-Amp - MPC 2000XL Inputs**MPC 2000XL - DAW

or

Turntable - MPC 2000XL Inputs**MPC 2000XL - Presonus Bluetube Pre-Amp - DAW


Just trying to get some third party perspective

Turntable outputs need a pre-amp in order to be connected to mpc inputs.

Unless the turntable is the type that already has a pre-amp inside.

What type of turntable is it and does it already have a pre-amp inside?
That's the question that will answer your um, question, lol.

You may be getting your pre-amps confused. A "Blue Tube" is a microphone pre-amp not a turntable "RIAA" pre-amp. The Blue Tube may beef up your sound between the MPC and your interface/mixer but it wont do jack between the turntable and MPC (unless it has a phono input I don't know about?).

Is it true that if I have a turntable with RIAA pre-amp but I use a mixer between the turntable and my MPC, my samples will sounds better?

No. Instead of just blindly asking questions you should research a little more about the equipment.

Sure there are mixers with nice pre's that will make the audio sound cleaner but there are also sh*t mixers that may do more damage than good.
