just got mine in the mail today. Having trouble w/ the editing, but it has an AMAZING sound! right now i'm getting the computer editor, but i'd rather not depend on the mac for editing.....

All the reviews seem to suggest the editor is essential for major patch creation, while the hardware controls are fine for minor tweaking. I'd love one by the way!

the tetra seems nice, but you can get cheaper real analog synths though... i bought a x0xb0x [which is essentially a TB-303 in a different case] for under $500... the recession can be your friend.

The "free editor" don't do jack....They want me to drop another $40 to get the fully functional version....LAMEEEE.

u think? how r u using it? it wouldn't let me adjust anything while connected to the editor. also it says it doesn't let you save patches, unless you go w/ the pro editor...

I'm seriously considering getting myself a Tetra. But I'm currently torn between that and the new Moog Slim Phatty (http://www.moogmusic.com/littlephatty/? ... t_id=21398).

I've wanted a Moog for years, but could never warrant shelling out that kind of cash before, but this new one is just about within reach (if I sell some other gear I have). But whilst checking out some links for the Slim Phatty I stumbled across the Tetra, which I'd somehow overlooked before, and the fact that's it's polyphonic and has 4 voices & 4 outputs, I can really see it working great in a live setting with my Xio as a Midi controller and my MPC1000.

Are you guys that bought the Tetras still enjoying them? I really love fat Moogy sounds, so how does it hold up on that front?

Would I be able to get these sort of sounds from a Tetra (http://soundcloud.com/ishfaq/call-the-boss-ishfaq)?

Maybe it has something to do with the fact they are MP3 samples? The Mopho/Tetra is an analog synth, how can it make digital aliasing noises? The sound generator and efx are all VCO, VCF, VCA! How did they record the samples? Theres not a whole lot of logic in your conclusion, homie.

Want the truth... DSI & Moog make analog synths, comparisons stop there. Their sounds are different. You can likely make similar sounds with em but critical ears know that their sounds are different from one another. In the case of the slim phatty vs tetra... they're both $799 similarities stop there (judging from what little we do know about the slim). One's poly and one's mono. I'd say decide what you are really looking for as far as poly vs mono, consider your needs and your workflow and go to some store and try em both (sub slim phatty for little phatty) for a while then pull the trigger and buy the one that satisfies. or wild out, get your hustle on and buy em both ... no but really try em in person and consider your needs cause they aint the same. you could probably compare mopho to a phatty (based on them both being mono) but even then a prophet and a moog (their respective grandaddy's) have always been different in sound and characteristics.

Regarding the Tetra, it's polyphony is 4 - but is that per voice, or total? I'm guessing that's total, so if you make a pad sound, and play a 4 note chord, is that it maxed out? Or could you still play some bass/lead sound over that with another voice? So is it basically 4 monosynths in one box, which actually makes it polyphonic, but only for one voice at a time?

Also, when it's in Multi-mode (working as a multitimbral sound module) can the individual parameters be adjusted for each voice via a midi controller? So if I set up my Xiosynth or my MPC to control different aspects of each voice, can it all be done in real time?
