imo the xl's filter is nicer but the sound on a whole is a bit tinnier on the xl... i think the xl was made with better algorithms or whatever, envelope wise. i can find loop points etc real easy on the xl, takes a bit more work on the 2500. but i'm not an xl vet although i own one, a 2500 jedi i am!

i have sweet spots on my 2500 w/ attack/decay settings... 4, 13, 19, 33, 38, 43, 48, 53, 58 etc. anyone else feel that?

I appreciate the input. I got a chance to play around with a XL with an FX Board for the first time today. I sampled a few kicks and snares and played around with the filter and FX. It mos def sound different from my 2500.
I like the way the effects are set-up and the sound it gave the drums I sampled.
Def a Classic IMO.

I feel you on the 2500, I get some mean knock outta mine. I just gotta dig a little deeper into the FX. I don't use it as much as I should.

From my experience, the 1000/2500 effects sound much better then that on the XLs EB board. The EB16 in my opinion is one of the worst sounds effects Ive ever heard. It's def usable, but only minimally.

IMO the effects on the 2500 are worse than the EB16, but that's just coming from the bias that I was a 2K user for 13 years and have only had my 2500 for a month or so, so I'm barely gettin' used to the crispy-ness and also haven't figured a way to tweak the effects like I did in the 2K . But I also don't like the routing or the mixer mode of the 2500 yet either .
