sampling fender rhodes

im sampling my boy's fender rhodes onto my mpc 1k and anyone have any suggestions on how i should go about it. i thinking that i can sample just one note and midi to my keyboard or do i need to sample every key to my MPC then midi?

Youd probably want to record a couple of notes and some chords to get a nice multisample (I dont know if this works on the 1K). Make sure you use a good mic too. I had a Rhodes at the crib for about a month and never got around to it. I was just gonna record my boy playing and chop it up later.

I would sample every key and hold it in for a long time... That way you can vary the lengths of the notes with decay or just cutting off a note...

You could just get one note and pitch it, but as you get higher in pitch the note will be shorter and also the quality will be noticably off after you pitch it up about 6 semitones...

I would definitely sample every note and then just make it a Program... I'd love to have a Rhodes Program on my MPC...

You're gonna wanna sample every octave.

with the rhodes you wanna sample with the highs off one note then highs up half then same note again highs all the way up...

then velocity switch it so it sound more like a bell the harder you hit so placethe higest high one as the hard hit

it helps keep it real
and mix the movement of the track

the mic you dont need unless its a fender twin withj vibrato then yu need a mic otherwise get a footpedal with fuzz or overdrive then put the rhodes through that and a good pre amp cause that classic rhodes sound comes from the way you amp it

no you need to sample more then every one octave...

not necessarily every note, but maybe every third note or something

ive got some nice rhodes progs...tutor had a good one on his keyz pack...some vf-1 efx and woo-hah!

also like to make my own through multisamples...would love to record one...especially amped...

I m multi sampling a friends Fender rhodes piano also and I came up with the idea that you could re-sample it from 16 bits 44100hz to 16 bits 22050hz to save storage place the quality doesen`t change. Since I`l go for sampling every and each note on the keyboard including all velocity modes I`l Need all the empty mb space I can get.

Still have a question regarding this.
When you assing samples to the keyboard/Drumpads on the mpc I wan`t to add the velocity mode so dipending on how har i strike the pads/ Keyboard it change tone .

The question is : How can i submit the extra 2 samples to every pad in velocity mode when there are only 16x 4 banks of pads?

is it possible to put the velocity added tones to a nother program?
