tryna get a 2kxl.. anyone selling theirs? or willing to trade for a 1000?

I would stay w/ the 1000. I have worked on the 1000 and the 2000xl, while the larger pads on the 2000xl are nicer the 1000 w/ onboard effects and 4 outs, w/ JJ os make the machine a overall better experience. Or at least go up to 2500 or 4000, they are pretty much all in the same price range these days.

ok let me re-phrase what i meant by effects. You have onboard Compression, and EQ. unless you got some racks, then by all means go for the 2000xl. but again might as well keep the all the upgraded features. i should digress though, per i am speaking on my own experience. I wouldn't call the stock os 1000 a machine that i want to work on (it's clunky operation.) And the 2000xl i worked w/ for a while was nice but i was used to my 2500, and there where some major changes between the machines.
Just want to throw it out there too that I'm not speaking on just myself, I work closely w/ two producers who came up using the 2000, then to the XL and they always tell me that the 2500 is THE machine to have.

As far as expensive...I did my research man they got loaded 25K's on ebay for the same price as 2000xl's.
Just don't short change the decision and end up w/ limitations.

2500's are like $900 and the 2kxl's are like $500.. but its just my opinion..

E.g. I hate using Pro Tools to make beats, but you might like it. It's all preference in the end. Buying a sampler is like buying hiking shoes. You buy what YOU feel comfortable in.

you tryin to use floppy disks and have 1/4 the memory? thats what an xl has...maxes out at 32mb i believe and uses floppy disks verse SD cards, which can hold 8gb..stay in the newer models, you want at least a 2nd generation(or whatever, the blue one) 2000xl which costs about hte same as the 2500s...just keep your mpc and save up some money, get a job, youll make $900 in 6 weeks

Just built my new room. (2 walls in my basement, built everything, drywall and electrical, lots of sealing and painting.) Shit is a lil dusty yet, and none of my gear is actually connected. I plan on putting acoustic panels on the walls. Gonna build the panels myself using materials from here: http://www.atsacoustics.com/cat--DIY-Ac ... --102.html I plan on using natural canvas for the covering and painting some graff on em.

There is enough room for a nice rug and lounge chair (cant really tell from the pics) plus i aint moved my records down yet, im gonna have a metal utility shelf with all my records and crates infront of me and on the backwall. Oh and not pictured is the door with giant lock, my huge ass english mastif, and gun rack..... incase any fckrs get any bright ideas.

I see you got that Numark TTUSB running straight into the MPC. How do you have it connected, and what settings do you use in the recording menu?
