Hello. I wanted to ask how this MPC is holding now? I'm 4K user, but I'm curious. There was a lot of bitching in forums about this machine, but I think it can't be that bad, besides I'm listetning to Alchemist - Chemical Warfare and it was done by 5K. Sounds great, even those synths which I heard are bad. In interview with Alc he said he likes it.
Is this machine stable? Is it faster than it's precedessors? Comfortable and easy as the other models? Your opinions would be aprreciated. Honestly I would like to try it. I'm really tired of this useless and crashy ak.sys, this is some bullshit :/. Otherwise I love my 4K, it lacks some features that makes it more comfortable, but nothing to whine about really, as it is pretty old.
I think if some of the pros would say: "hey buddy you really should jump on 5K it is dope and Just Blaze was lying" half people from 4K would be on 5K now, as it is being said to be the best model. IMO many people can't decide by themself what do they need. I think working either on 5K or 4K wouldn't make a big difference for me and both of them shoul be great machines. One thing that sucks about 5K is that it doesn't have 24 bits, but hey every other model skipping 4K has 16 bits and many people still rock this machines to this day.

i know you are asking our opinions, but from your statement above, i honestly think that you would be better off trying to find one somewhere, that you can test out for yourself to determine that... cause just like you said, many people work off others influences, and often times, we trust one another for that... goodluck in ya venture homie

ive recently been checking both these machines.ive got them both here in front of me now.all il say is the 4000 for me is the best unit.why.there both absolutly rockin, surely the top models give or take some features and personal taste but.........4000 is BIG on output and the filters(did i mention the detailed fx) are dark and heavy.the whole sound once ttweaked is DARK AND HEAVY.!!sequencer like other vintage machines is funky shit..the 5000(best new sampler im sure by far) is da bomb...........but the 4000is jus more classy.its a close call but imo the 5 has to go bro
(ill miss her):(
.the 4000 is most certainly stayin
cheers

I think they would be smart to get the 5k all fixed up with a new OS. Because I mean if they try and release a newer model, nobody is going to buy it probably. Like even people who havent used MPC's before will come on and compare all of them before they spend 2 grand or whatever the next one will be, and they will see all the complaints on the 5k and how they didnt fix it. So I dont see how they would have a whole lot of sales trying to make a new one when they didnt have the last one solid enough.

to give up on this now would be the end.your right.i remember my asr x (black)amazing sampler with very flexible sound engine, resampling fx pads everything.......except the sequencer would jump around while changing tracks!!!!(and look what hapened to ensoniq samplers after this)although they changed the chip at least once.must of been something deeper,processor??power..and freezing sometimes...i guess the red one had similar troubles..wish they could fix all these machines with o p upgrade.if they do they will be complete somewhat.its like a track.complete it.prob is,do people wanna pay 1- 2 k for a big toy like sampler when they can use full pro software.i actually love this 5k and 4k.but ....
