can't get the pitch corrector effect to do anything

I was going through all the effects and I can't get the pitch corrector to do anything at all.

got the info from the manual but nothing I do does anything?

i.e. I choose a scale, choose M for major, key of D turn the direct signal off and nothing.

there is an inhibit button on F4 isn't mention in the manual neither is the midi channel parameter. Maybe these appeared in a software revision?????

Anyone got this to work???

Preserves the vibrato of the input signal in order to maintain a

should have said I was running a vocal sample through the pitch corrector effect and there was no change.
The vocal sounds the same as it was before processing.

got it working, it was working just has a very slow response to for correcting pitch.
Once I had inputed a long slide from g to c it was obviously working
Too slow for general use though apart from subtle pitch correction.

the midi mode seems more interesting.
play the notes in from the pads quite fun.

4000 has auto-tune? Probably not great for vocals but that's a cool feature if it's usable..

yep it has but the reaction time is very slow and gradual so won't give u that in your face autotune effect. Another kind of shame we don't have someone working on the OS moment as a variable speed parameter would open up all of those possibilities.

O n the subject of effects....
I have often cussed the 4ks reverbs, but there are actually some nice effects in there outside of reverbs and with the 4ks ability to chain effects I was able to get effects I actually really liked.

I thought the delay with the variable slope was really quite special.

I haven't found an obvious way of saving effects presets or configurations yet but will look into that when I have a chance.

IIRC correctly, all FX parameters can be set using SysEx,
so if you really were a glutton for punishment,
you could effectively make FX presets that way.
The method for accessing each FX and the slot its in (A/B/C/D) and the parameters is rather tedious but it is documented in the SysEx PDF.
IIRC, back in 2002, I wanted to change the delay time on the delay effect in the middle of a song, but back then, prior to OS 1.50, before I complained excessively the SysEx did not work at all!
By the time they fixed it, I had used the method of saving the different FX setting in a different multi, and using a command to switch multis mid song instead, so I never revisited the idea of SysEx FX tweaking.....

well you see, maybe the developers are talking in txtspk jive like you do,
and so that's why we all find the MPC4000 OS so hard to understand
