balanced cables would be worth a try like jimmie suggested.

could also be to do with the power for your FW410 - if you're using an external supply, try using bus power and vice-versa. Ive heard some pretty horrible noises just because of grounding issues, or cheap power supplies, and some of it does sound like RF interference.
