The original 20/20's are widely used in the industry. More mixes than people realize have been touched by 20/20's at some stage of development. If yours are directly comparable, you should be good to go. As for other monitors the original Mackie HR824's were highly very regarded for the project studio before they got bought out by the Chinese. I dont know if the sentiment remains the same now. The originals were suposed to translate really well in a lot of environments.

My bros got a pair of Carvin SRS65A's. It aint a huge company, but they make these in san diego. You can switch between Flat and Boosted frequncys. I go over and see him to mix down some of my shit sometimes.

I really like these a lot but every time i get enough $ i buy somethin else.

KRK 7000B Passive types. ( The ones with the stepped front panel ).

I drive them with an AMCRON 2400 watt power amplifer straight from the mixer control room outputs.

Very phase linear.

The driver components in these are made by FOCAL in France.

Not for the faint hearted.
