Would I lose any qualities from the sample patches on an Akai S1000/3000 sampling CD if I use CDXtract to convert it to S5000/6000 format instead of using the CDRW drive on the MPC4000?

I Have quite a few Akai disks and I think it would be faster and easier to convert them using CDXtract and then transfer the patches to the MPC using Aksys all neatly and organized from my PC. But I wouldn't want to use CDXtract if the conversion is not perfect. Anybody out there recommend it?

It simply changes the format files are read, theres no real audio "conversion" like in different bits/hz (unless u specify one thats different than the source). Theres no difference in sound, just format.

I heard from others that on some sample CD's the EXS24 files sounded better than the Akai files.
