os3.06 loop option is wack

its easy to setup the loops in akai os but in jj os its just goofy..sometimes i get it and sometimes i dont.. im starting to feel like its just buggy..even the sliders can move the offsets in samples but u cant see the offsets move at all only in sample..whats the purpose of this?? so far i see no reason, it serves just as an annoyance..

ok guys break it down for me how do u use the loop feature to do this

when u have "noteon" in trim u set ur start point to the part where u want the sound to begin

now u wanna loop a certain part of the sample using loop points..how do i get it to play the first part and then repeat the lil part over and over?

remember this is about loop feature in this thread not a sequencing question..stay on topic ..i need help

heh nvm i figured out the problem..jj made it so u had to window on the offset and choose to loop it from start..but here now heres where im confused why did he give us 2 options to loop? if u choose to loop from the top of the wavform and then choose to loop withn the offset one cancels out the othyer but why did he make this option?

yeah... i was about to say... as soon as you get into loop mode, just lock that padlock icon so that your START POINT and LOOP POINT are the same and will move together when you change either one. the reason you get this option is because it is ideal for making instrument patches or for certain sounds where you want to loop only the tail end of the sound [to extend it]. for example, imagine a piano sound "DUNNN" (or something like that)... and you want to make it a little longer than your original sample... you can find the perfect loop points at the end so that when you first press the pad it will start from the beginning, but then just it will stay looping the end part until you let go: "DUNNN-NN-NN-NN" rather than "DUNNDUNNDUNN"... does this make sense?

ya i know this thats what i was trying to accomplish on the jj os loop options..he changed it around from akai version..still though it doesnt explain why i can use the krunk sliders to move the offsets in samples but cant see it "visually" move the offsets..if u turn off loop at a different local then where i placed them..its kinda goofy play around with it and ull see what i mean..

yeah the Q-Link sliders are very sloppy for setting loop points in JJ OS... i've mentioned this before... they need to automatically switch over to begin or end loops point when you move the specific slider as well as react better when you zoom in... i still just use the DATA wheel with the SHIFT button for now.

on a similar matter, i can see how unlocking the padlock makes the start and loop points stay the same - but what i want to do is have the start point after the loop to point. That is, i want the sample to start half way through and then loop round to the beginning. i'm sure its possible, because i managed to do it before after a long and trying evening, but can't remember how. now every time i set the loop to point to 0 the start point automatically jumps back to zero as well. likewise, if i move the start point to the middle, the loop to point follows suit.

otherwise, i reckon the 1000 is a solid replacement for the 2kxl (i didnt even bother with their own os having heard from amillion people about jjos).
