4 q-link controllers on mpc 2500 are not enough and possibility to controll more mpc features via external controller using midi cc would be realy great

i'm with you on this but unfortunately it's not going to happen.
it was requested already a long time ago. JJ tried it but said he found it would require a full re-write of the OS from scratch, so he abandoned it. check the FAQ page on JJ's site.

i know what do you mean but jj rejected the implementation of multitimbrality... currently you can control cutoff and resonance of active track via midi cc so controling another parameters of an active track shouldn't be an impossible task... i hope so...

trust me on this one: it's not the multitimbrality issue i'm referring to, it's the midi CC thing. check his faq page.
realtime midi cc control of multiple internal parameters was and is my NUMBER ONE request for the MPC. it would revolutionize it as a live performance tool. i was one of the many requesting this back when JJ was working on os 2.

from his faq page:

Q:
Do You ever intend to implement multi-timbrality mode on MIDI IN?
Is the functional addition of the MIDI implementation of the internal parameter by "MIDI CC" possible?

A:
The addition of this function was tried.
However, many change was required, and since it became clear that OS had to be remade fundamentally, JJ said that an addition was
difficult.
For making this OS, JJ said that two years of time would be required.
Therefore, though regrettable, the MIDI implementation of the internal parameter by "MIDI CC" is actually difficult.

I'd like to see an even easier way to assign samples right when you're loading up stuff from the memory card. Now I'm kind of new to using my MPC2500 so bear with me here.

I'm really not the biggest fan of scrolling through every single sound loaded up whenever I'm assigning drums or new samples into programs.. I know there's some features now in the JJ OS that kind of make up for it, like the create new program thing for after recording samples, but it could still get even more user-friendly.

If you could do something like this... For example.. Being able to change programs in the load screen, and directly assign samples to pad number 1-16 and padbanks by simply hitting the pad when you select your sound.

Or maybe an option to make different folders in the internal memory. So that when I load up sounds I can load them into the internetal memory's "drum" folder, and the same for samples, instruments and so on. And make it easy. Then in program mode, it'd just need an option to then choose between which internal memory sample-folders the program would scroll through. That wouldn't fit too much on the screen and it'd be so nice.

Yeah and that quotation is maybe 2 years old :lol: .
So multitimber and CC stuff is for next year :wink:

I'd like to see a QLink able to transpose, so that if you are playing a sequence and say went above the mid-point it would play a higher note and the opposite for lower notes. It would give a bit more real time control playing live, and make patterns a bit more 'elastic'. Whether it would actually sound any good is another matter though

here some of my recent ideas to improve jjos:

* In non-destructive-chop mode:

1) could you make an "Divide" and "Combine" Button for Auto-Chop like in "normal" Chop-Mode? (in auto-chop-mode there are no overlapping areas, so this should be possible)
2) If you chopped a sample using auto-chop and confirmed with "do it" the Chops are really different from the way they were before hitting "do it" - bug?
3) i miss a "extract" function to safe a non-destructive chop as individual sample

* in trim mode: a coursor that shows the position of the playback.

* in Program-Mode a non-destructive-reverse-option and a offset for sample start/end-point would be nice.

* also in program mode: a "loop-endless" option: the sample starts to play when you hit the pad und then loops until you hit the same pad again. (Like the SP 404 does); this option could be in the ONE SHOT/NOTE ON - Menu. (ONE SHOT/NOTE ON/ENDLESS, or something like that.)

* a shortcut to enable/disable the metronome from main screen would be helpfull.

* direct recording of course

* make the arpeggiator more powerful (different pattern to choose from)

* multitimbrality (!!!)

* a distortion-effect (the "normalize to >100%"-trick sounds really crappy)

* volume/pan changes of the track mixer recordable

*in any "rename"-screen: get rid of the C&P function noone uses and make a "remember name"-Yes/No Function. But actually i would allways set it to "no"

I would like the ability to go to my last recorded sample 1st instead of winding through all of the pre-loads and samples taken earlier... I would like to have an option to scroll back to<---> front/or both :oops: when saving/loading & sample assignment... please... :twisted: :twisted: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

+1

It would be great to have folders inside the Sampler Memory, 1 for drums, 1 for sample1, sample2 etc...
When you have a lot of sounds its a pain i the S to scroll around... Not to mention if your using multi-sampled stuff..

i want each PAD BANK button to turn the bank on/off independently of all the others (rather than switching bank). That way you could run multiple banks at once withouth having to use the trigger sample function - so if you had BANKs A and D on (lit up), when you hit pad 16 it would play A16 and D16 with one hit; then if you hit PAD BANK C and PAD BANK D and hit the same pad it would play A16 and C16.

Whooo yes, +1
On top of that, effectively i'll make a decent use of TRIM + EFFECTS instead of
resampling...

JJ OS needs:

1. CLICK/metronome global on/off hotkey from MAIN page

2. marker to show which pads are playing in PGM edit view

3. option to show track PGM names instead of track names in Track Mute mode
