i bought an akai mpc 1000 1-2 weeks ago.the internal memory full of default samples annoyed me and i made a quick search on net how to delete samples, seqs, pgms etc... i refered to this:

"Go to SAVE mode. Save to INTERNAL MEMORY and before it saves anything, the MPC actually erases the internal memory.
Power it off right when it is right at 99% or right before it starts saving. I had to do it a couple of times before I got it right.

Make sure you have a good number of files in Internal Memory so when it erases, the percentage number moves slow and you can watch for the 99%.

So yeah do that process twice for:

SAVE ALL PROGRAMS AND SAMPLES
SAVE ALL SEQS AND SONGS"

it worked for samples but after i did it for seqs and songs there were some weird (weird characters and 999.9mb size) pgms in the load section of internal memory.when i try to load a pgm it crushes and i get this message:

CPU Address error (read)
----------------------------------------
PC(88568808) SR(40001160) TEA(12fffff)
------------stack dump (sp=885ffecc)----

a12a0004 8839a8d8 8839a97c 00000008

i guess i made a noob mistake,is there anyway to fix it?
thx for reading my shitty english and for help in advance

Hey man, there may be a better answer out there for you, however since the MPC is in fact a computer in it itself I would suggest doing what you do when a PC shits the bed like that

format the memory, well as you kinda did by deleting everything then re-install the operating system (os)

Hopefully, you can then boot back up and start over fresh.

works on a pc re-installing windows so why not on a little mpc computer

Try, unless someone else has an idea for you

woah, where the fack did you find that nonsense? You may have fried your ram dude, easier way would to select the Internal Memory option in you load menu, and select the option to turn it off, so your internl memory dont boot up with sounds all the time. Bad move my friend, NEVER shut down ANY computer(MPC included)WHILE IN THE MIDDLE OF SOMETHING. gOOD WAY TO OVERLOAD YOUR MOTHERBOARD AND FRY SHIT. but its a noob mistake, so ille forgive you. Try to reload the OS, most defnately replace the flash, and be on your way.

i ve loaded jjos and when i check internal memory size left in the save field, the result is zero.is that normal? (i have loaded only default samples&seqs=approx. 4,5 mb)
