i dont think it is possible unless you have the Roger Linn 3.10e OS upgrade... i know it is possible with the upgrade though...

with old os, assign it to two pads and set them to cut off each other, I'm pretty sure the old ones support that for the hihats.

What up fam! Actually, that was me who started this thread I was at my boys making beats at his crib and he uses the 60. I just used his login. As you can tell he doesn't post.
I didn't see anything on the 60 where you could assign a sound to multiple pads or set up mute groups. Well...as far as putting the same sample on multiple pads I didn't really look, but I was looking for mute groups, poly/mono, and a few other things and they just weren't there.
BTW that was my first time with the 60. I thought it was madd basic, but it's simplicity is really nice. I liked it cause the sound actually is very warm, and the sequencer timing sounds very natural, and has a nice swing to it. The volume by track is really dope too. I liked that feature a lot actually. I definitely missed not having waveform editing though, and that you couldn't extract a new sample from one currently in memory. However I did really enjoy my first experience with the 60. I made 2 beats with my boy just using the 60 alone, so it was cool!

you can extract with OS 3.10, not sure about the 2.XX OS's.
Basically it is a copy and paste to a dummy short sample.
the old OS does have mute for hihats but I am not sure how it is implemented.
the more time you spend with the 60 the less basic it seems.
There are many feature I am sleeping on and every few months I figure out the genius of it and start using it.

You can't extract directly from the memory with v2.12. You have to save the sound to disk and extract from there. Its not really a problem but if you've just created a fresh kit then I imagine its a pain in the hemerroids, expecially if youza lethargic mo-fo like me and don't name all the sounds.
