i got this one... supposed to work with mpcs aswell as ASR 10 afaik !?

but i dont know 3 things

1) what adapter do i need to put in common CF Cards? is that a PCMCIA Adapter? the slot is bigger than a CF Card

2) is this drive hotswapable or isnt it?

3) do i need a special SCSI cable for Rd300->ASR 10 or will any common cable ll do ?

thanks

1. PCMCIA
2. External Spyrus RD300 (MCDISK) scsi cf drive is hot swappable
3. (D-sub half-pitch) 50-pin to 25-pin (DB-25) Scsi Cable. (Spyrus is 50pin/ASR is 25pin)

I use this drive with my MPC 60's and ASR-10

grrrrreaaaaat!!! thanks mate

i also want to use it with mpc+ASR

i ve got one more Q:

there are 2 SCSI Slots on the back of teh Rd300

does this mean i can get 2 cables and use the Spyrus for saving/loading to BOTH the mpc and the ASR at the same time?

or no chance.. only one device!?

I don't know if you can, and never tried to hook up 2 dif Samplers to the MCDISK at the same time before.

Only 1 device at a time, as far I know. The other connection would be used to connect "chain" another scsi drive like a CD Player or ZIP to the MCDISK.

nooooooooooooooooo :?

damn.... how many different 25 to 50 SCSI Cables are there?

was waiting since a week for my cable and its completly wrong... neither of the 2 sides fitting the Spyrus or the ASR 10

F U C K!!!!

this is the cable i bought:
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... K:MEWNX:IT

can someone please give me a direct link to the right cable, i dont wanna go through 2 weeks and 20 cables of testing...

shit is, an USA based webstore or ebay wont be very ideal for me as i am in Europe... and buying a cable from USA means even more delay

damn, cant do shyt with the ASR until i got the cable

Confirmed.

The top goes into the Card Reader (50pin / HD50M, Half Pitch D-Sub)
The bottom goes into the 60 or ASR (25pin / DB-25)

aaaargh

obviously my PCMCIA Adpater is not compatible (however the Spyrus manual says it accepts TYPE 1-4)

so should i get a Spyrus PCMCIA Adapter or what?

situation is: the red Status LED doesnt go off, and teh ASR cant get the connection to the drive

guesi have to order the more expensive Spyrus Adapter than... but do i aso need their CF Card or is that not important?

NO

You need a PCMCIA CompactFlash CF Type I/II Adapter

http://cgi.ebay.com/SD-Compact-Flash-Ca ... %26ps%3D63

I use a 2 GB sandisk CF card with the adaptrer

hi Ceo

well i just bought ANY Pcmcia Adapter i cant find any Type # on it ...

and some cheapo CF Card

the red light for Status stays on and the ASR wont establish the connection

so... i would say it IS the Pcmcia that causes this dont you think?
