I saw a mpc vid where they changed the root key for 12 levels. Problem is I forgot how to change it back. When I go to 12 levels now with same sample thats on a different pad, the tuning on the sounds are not the same. I've chk'd the instruction manual & the ebook & searched a lil on the forums. Can someone tell me how to change it back ?

P.s. Hope im explaining it right...

Thanks for the reply guys. I thought when you first get the mpc & go to 12 levels it puts the original pad in the middle & after i switched it. It was leaving original pad where it was before i went to 12 levels. Upon reseting my mpc settings. I think I was just mistaken & thought I had done something that I hadnt. I guess thats what happens when you still dont know your machine in & out. I'll take it as another learning experiance !

this is the video that got me confused. 3:10 in is the part that had me trippin. Now that I watch it again I think all he's doing is changing the tuning when going to 12 levels.

I was going to come back and say something silly based on how the guy looks... but the sounds are pretty decent.

Yeah... 12 (or in his case 16) levels can be set to either velocity for a pad, or for tuning a pad. JJOS has some other options... but that's 1k/2.5k only.

Make fun of the way he looks ? Come on man, thats KutMasta Kurt ! The Luchador mask is gangsta ! Alot of peeps sleep on him but he's real nice with the beats. Check his albums with Kool Keith, most recently they did - "Sex Styles The Unreleased Archives" which was nice. Thanks for the reply & appreciate the help...

I remember when Kurt was a radio DJ down around Salinas long before I heard that he became a producer. He was a good DJ too, played the old Vintertainments and everything. I dont remember him doing a lot of scratching, but his taste in music was impeccable.
