jj sequencer

hello guys

question,.about the jj sequencer for pc

if i understand right,,its possible to create sequences on the mpc and then this can be read-playback by the sequencer..and viceversa??

and/or it works connected to the mpc via midi interface? like have a mpc with a big monitor??

sorry maybe dumb questions but i would like to clear my doubts here

Sorry for spoiling your party here, but jj is an OS (operating system) written for the mpc 1k and 2500. It has nothing to do with your PC.

It's 3rd party, made for the mpc and offers features not found in the OS written by Akai.

He is asking about the jj sequencer for pc not the jj os

here is a person using the jj sequencer beta controlling with a nano pad midi controller so it seems if used your mpc as midi controller instead of nano controller(using midi to usb coupler or midi out to midi in of interface) you CAN do atleast some of what he's asking.

As an MPC4000 user, I can admit to knowing NOTHING about the JJ stuff.

But this JJ PC sequencer looks like it has potential...

I use it all the time.


Its for PC and can be used with MPC500, 1000, and 2500.

You can midi Hardware to it, and YES you can playback and edit the files from the MPC's I mentioned above.

You can save in JJSeq format or in MPC format, but only squences and programs in the FREE version.

I make programs and may start a sequence with proper bpm and save it in MPC Format,
Transfer to my 2500 and load.

I'm currently beta testing and reporting bugs.

I'm going to midi my S950 and ASR10 Rack to it today for some tests.

Can you make INST programs in JJ Sequencer? Or is it only drum programs? I would buy it for that alone.

Also can you create non-destructive-chop wav's in JJ Sequencer?

Ok I downloaded it and I'm playing with it now. I'm guessing that 'Chromatic: ON' is what you change to make INST programs? Sooo....

I loaded up the pads with chromatic samples, and everything looks gravy! Is there a way to load several samples at once? or is it only possible to load them one at a time??? Is it possible to set envelopes and other program parameters (I know filters are probably out)? He definitely needs better documentation for this thing....

Also, would you care to drop some knowledge on creating NDC wav's?

Oh, and how do you buy the thing? And what's the cost???

Yes you can select a group of wav files or a folder and drag and drop to the program area.

A mouse with a good scroll wheel is also key to navigating / using this program.

I NDC on my 2500 with JJOS, and JJSequencer should be able to import that in the future.
Every program I know that NDC like Protools, Soundforge and Recycle saves the chop/region info in their own format.

So as of right now you can't take a regular wav feom your hard drive and set up the 32 ndc chops in jj sequencer, and then load it into a 1k/2.5k and have it recognize the chops? By the way I have a 1k with jj.

nope, he has a video of it in use but has not implemented it yet in the Trial Version.

Its in progress tho, and hopefully it works out the way we want it!

I think we should see a big update this month, according to what he is saying on his Youtube channel.

now if you could just multi track out rewire this into a daw so you could take a proj folder load it up.......
rewire into protools sonar cubase whatever .......instant multitrack transfer.
