Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

OK, I've looked at the mods to turn the external scsi port to internal for card readers and such, my question is this:

what is the safest place to tap 12v power for a hard drive in the MPC 2k classic?

P.S. if anyone has a scsi card reader or internal scsi zip for sale let me know. I don't want to spend $200.00 when i already have some scsi hard drives of much larger capacity, but my fear is that 12v puts too much strain on the MPC power supply.

any comments?

I just got the adapter in today to turn my external scsi into internal 50-pin. I will try it tonight and if it works, I'll report back tomorrow with the link for the part I used.

Thanks for your help with the power hookup. I didn't realize there was 12v right on the power supply. How convenient!!!

Yellow = 12v
Red = 5v
Black = GND
