mpc1000 & Logic 9 Help.

Ok kind of a noobish question but there should be a simple answer to this that I can't seem to find.

How do I record my mpc into Logic properly?

So far i've been setting it up as Audio+Stereo+Input 3&4+output 1&2.
The result is the recorded track coming only out of my right speaker. When I click to Binaural the track comes out of the left speaker but at a much lower volume.

I just want a simple answer so that everything comes out of both speakers normally and evenly.

Don't know Have you checked your cables and or connections?

Checked all cables, everything plays out equally out of the speakers. Its just after I record the samples through the mpc to logic does the recorded result only come from the right speaker. Doesn't make sense.

ok. Basically I just clicked off the stereo button by the level of the track from stereo to mono and it now plays out of both speakers. I need to do some research on the mono vs. stereo issue and why the mpc doesn't play out as a stereo track. Also, the only way logic recognizes the mpc is if I create a stereo track. Confused by all of this.

not sure what's going on from your description. but if you want to output stereo from the mpc you have to send it on two mono channels -- for example, left from output 1 and right from output 2.

as a general rule, use mono tracks -- they let you control the stereo mix.

Sorry for the confusion. When I create an audio track in logic it seems as though the only way logic picks up the sounds from the mpc is if I create a stereo track. When I finish recording, the track only comes out of the right speaker. If I change the track to mono post fact it then comes out of both speakers equally.

How do I set up a mono track in logic from the mpc from the get go?

click the button below the meter/level bar. it changes a track from mono/stereo. if that doesn't make sense, i'm sure the manual explains it better.
