saving entire memory

when I save entire memory, the next time I go back lots of the samples are missing

I make sure ALL the seqs and songs are opened up and the loop is there but half the drums are gone

the samples themselves are still in the folder where the project is?

does it have something to do with putting either YES or NO in the "Replace same files:" ?

I tend to have to stop and come back to stuff so each time i will choose (save entire memory) then auto load create auto load folder, then it saves everything and next time i turn on everything loads up how i last left it kinda like saving a pro tools session or ableton live set then coing back later, it is how you last lefty it and everything loaded up, though works best if you tend to work on one beat at a time
that's the habit i'm in and works ok doing that all the samples i need will be right there where i need em.

any idea WHY some of the samples are missing though?

it's like I save it once, some are missing, replace them, do more stuff and save it again

then the next time some are missing too... but if it works one time, you never have the problem again

what the hell is the deal with that?


so now before I start something I do one little loop and save it real quick to make sure everything is there

once I don't encounter the problem anymore, then I feel safe to go all out

if you work on something for an hour and then save entire memory, you'll more than likely be wasting your time

it's annoying that I have to keep turning off my machine to make sure it saved one little thing

well it would help to know which mpc you are using..

how do you load after you saved the entire memory? do you load your samples, programs and sequences by hand or do you load it by loading the whole folder? do you know that there is a project file in that folder that you are supposed to use to load back to the entire memory? sorry if you knew all this but sometimes it is the obvious...
and also it is not recommended to overwrite folders since the mpc 1000 and 2500 sometimes corrupts the folders. if you have space enough just create a new folder everytime. you still can delete duplicate folders later and you have the benefit that you can go back to an old version if you like to.

I've got an mpc 1000, and the same thing happens to me. I'll record some samples and trim them. When I go to save them I save the entire memory. I have created a project folder which I save on every time. There's ample space on the WAVE memory and the CF card, but for some reason when i record new samples and save the entire memory, the next time i load my project all the samples I recorded in the previous sesssion are gone.

I even created a new project folder and the same thing kept happening. I've had the mpc for about two weeks now, and it never did that before.

You need to save entire memory and replace existing sample.
