so i've had enough of trying to fit loops on floppys, i'm looking for SCSI drives zip or hard drive n they cost loads. I would of never had this problem with the mpc 500. grrr lol.

maybe you wouldnt have that problem if you got a 500 but there is a solution i used before i got my HD and Zip Drive.
why not load the loops into software like audacity cool edit pro or adobe audition, pitch it up,save as another file. now, you will have the same loop but a bit, lets say compressed, when you load it into mpc you have to tune it down and you are done. it sound like an original sample. try this,
i wouldnt recommend pitching too much, you may not be able to tune it down in the mpc.

Or you could skip the PC and resample if you have an XL. I've got a beat with 6 to 8 2 bar loops that fits on one floppy. The whole beat was done before I had max RAM.

If you resample, once you have pressed do it, go run a few errands around town. Its gonna be a while!!

i bought an mpc 500 and am loving it just as much if not more than my 2000, sure its full of bugs but if i treat it gentle my workflow has been dramatically improved.

are you shitting me? You can buy a zip drive on eBay for about a fiver. I posted up on a local music forum and someone just gave me mine. Ask around anyone you know, they were pretty popular storage options for PCs at one time. Better yet, why not just fit a compact flash reader? I paid a forum member £5 for mine, screwed it onto a hollowed out floppy drive housing and then bought an £8 CF card from eBay. £13 for 1GB storeage? Yes please.
