TR Mute Pads, Next Sequence, Automation. HELP!!!

Why is it that when I record a track mute "MOVE" with the track mute pads. It works fine when I play it back. But when i go to the main screen the move is lost. Does it only work in that screen (TRACK MUTE SCREEN) or am i doing something wrong. Am I thinking this is like automation when it's not. Is this Mostly used for LIVE situations.

Also the "Next Sequence" feature is nice too. Is there any way I can use this feature to create a song (song mode) or is this also more of a live thing. It's so easy seeing all the sequences laid out like that.

Does any one else use theses functions. If so How are you using them.

I know the MPC 4000 is a BEAST, but hopefully getting some feedback from you guys will help me know more about how to USE it to it's fullest.

Im the main window put the cursor over the mute field and press window. Then change the setting "use track mutes" or something like that..
then ur track mutes will play back correctly on any screen

caught it on the forum, thinks it was haze.... u never know whats gunna happen when you press the OPEN WINDOW button!!!!!!love that sht....
