Why, have you got a new/old stock one for sale? Are we talking new in the box unused? If so, I'd personally pay $1500-1800, which is double the price of a used one. I've haven't seen a "new" one in awhile.

prices are that high for new old stock mpc3000s eh. i would of never guessed. iv seen mpc3000s go for as low as 660 that look to be in great condition on ebay

I've seen some in great condition go pretty cheap too. I haven't seen one that was actually new in the box with all of the accessories for awhile. I did see several while I was out in Japan a couple of years ago. Kind of a white whale thing I guess. Its amazing what people pay for cardboard and floppies! Sealed records are in the same category.

You can get a MPC3000 for less than $1000. Buyers market at the moment. You can check your local craigslist for one also. If your lucky you can can one from $700-$950. You can find and LE for around $900. Trust me i've seen it.

Yeah, 3ks are cheap now. I peep ebay on the daily and make a good portion of my living buying/repairing/reselling gear from craigslist. Question is what's a NEW one worth? I have an LE with VGA, internal microtech card reader (two drives in one), 32mb and its clean as a whistle. That's gotta be worth more than $900, right?

you guys make a good argument with spending to much on a new mpc3000. however i live in canada and shipping is a b**** for items of this size and weight. especially at customs. i have a local who wants 1300us for his. os:3.8 max ram and floppy. its hard to decide wether i should wait it out for ebay and deal with shipping or cop this locally.

I'd say that's a fair price for an unused one that you can inspect and don't have to import. Its my main instrument, and I'd pay $5000 for one if that's what they cost.

If it's really NOS (new old stock) then it should be completely unused. Never turned on, never touched. As soon as it's turned on and used, then it's not new anymore.

The reason why people pay such a premium for NOS is so they can be the first to use the item whether it is a a MPC, car parts, etc.

For local deals, it doesn't hurt to try and haggle. $1300 is probably on the high end for a used 3000 -- but if it's in really nice shape and you don't want to deal with the headaches of shipping, then it's probably not a bad deal if you can afford it.

ah mpchunter my man, big ups on the website. im aware NOS is legit fresh in the box. but the guy said hes turned it on 3-4 times and the plastic is still on the machine. i guess its more LNIB. but ya i live in canada and not alot of people in the states realy want to deal with shipping internationally ( this usually applies for the good deals on mpc3000s on ebay 600-1000). ironically i usually dont like the mpc3000s that would be shipped internationally so i never bid on those.
mpchunter, question but in your opinion an mpc3000 turned on 3-4times in NOS condition, with max ram and o.s. 3.8. what would you say a fair price is. thanks
