running into a strange bug in JJOS2 where a sample which is 2 bars long gets cut off somewhere during the first bar.

when I mute one of the other drum tracks, the sample plays entirely. It's as if events from one track are causing the sample from another track to stop. It has nothing to do with track mute events I checked that...

any ideas????

Double check to see if you have something in the same mute group as the sample thats not uncommon. Or maybe on a previous take you left a small piece in the same track and when its coming back around its cutting it off (I've done this)

also check to see if you are maxing out your polyphony. If so convert stereo things into mono if they dont need to be stereo like kicks, bass, hats, etc.

on a lot of beats Ill lay my chops down across 8 bars then sample it back into the MPC so I can use different effects. In that case I have an 8 bar sample playing fine no problems.

I'm wondering if this drum program is corrupt coz it seems to be the one causing the problems.

I deleted 2 sample hits from the drum track (right where it was cutting off) and this allows the long sample to play on the other track.

I don't think the polyphony is maxed because I only have 4 tracks playing.

Could it be possible that my problem is because the program was created using a different OS (either akai or OSXL I can't remember) ????

it sounds to me exactly like a polyphony issue- you could max the polyphony on just a few pads- depending on the pad settings.

on os2 go to mode other - pad 10- and check the polyphony.

if it is polyphony - turn individual pads to mono and assign some muting options (e.g. if you have a few hihat pads , have them mute each other)
