The classic 2000 doesn't, but I think the xl has a feature a bit like this which cuts the sample into 16 parts & sets it out over 16 pads......

Yep! Although, it doesnt cut the sample into 16 parts by itself. This is the ZONE feature which you can cut a sample into 1-16 pieces
Something tells me the people of Earth are going to need me one day...

Yea the XL does just what beets said...
The Zone function chops it into even parts...
You can then adjust these parts manually in case your sample is not directly on beat, which most are not...
