Software that best emulates mpc?

actually ableton has the "drumracks" introduced in version 7 that is a bank of "pads" that you can drag/drop drums/samples etc 16 of em are visible at a time and you move banks just like changing banks on an mpc
if you have an akai mpd32 or one of the cheaper ones.. the 16 visible drumracks automap to the 16 pads on ya controller. plus each "pad" in the drum racks is on it's own track so ya beat is automatically being "tracked out" as you go along too


so ableton live 8 and mpd32 is a hands on virtual mpc on steroids

though i like the limitations on my mpc it inspires creativity to work with less sounds at once
but i understand why/how an mpc on the train/bus would be awkward well except for a mpc 500 on batteries( about same price as ableton)

I second FXPansion GURU. I just ordered an MPC 1000 though because I've always wanted to own/try an MPC... Been using an MPD16 and Guru since I started making beats though...

dont get sampla, it is not a standalone, it doesent have a sequencer at all, all it basically is is a sample player

Sample does have a standalone mode and therefore I'm assuming it does have a sequencer...

to emulate mpc assign drums and samples to a "drumrack" 16 "pads" visible at a time can trigger with comp keys if needed or any midi controller.

also take any audio sample/clip in the browser right click choose "slice to new midi track"
choose how many slices and it creates basically the equivlent of an mpc program with the slices/chops assigned to "pads"

I love the mpc... know it front back , inside and out. but I have to say.... it collects dust next to my maschine now....

there, get it if you want, i wouldnt..... i think the beat thang may be the cheapest without all the bells and whistles,........you could always get maschine, thats a powerhouse, but that blows the mpc away,.

I didn't say I wanted that $hit! Just wanted to let you know it does work in a standalone mode.
I wanted to find out more about this software but there site really didn't have much info at all, nor could you download a manual to find out more. This alone gave me the impression that it's not very pro.

I'd fuq with the Beat Thang if anything for the fact it has 3000 sounds ready to go.

lol, sorry for getting a lil pissy, yea, they put out little info, giving the impression that its like a mpc or something, peeps are gonna be pissed if they buy it, im trying to get saint joe to do a review on it to warn people, but everytime he contacts them they never get back to him, I sent a e-mail faking like i was a potential customer asking questions before I bought it, hahaha,. after I was like no thanks it aint even got a step sequencer, what would I use it for? im a reason user?? they were like its a good app for 99. but i saw that sh*t advertised for 149.00???? yea, very little info, and videos, it seems like they are trying to trick people into buying it, and they say they may look into it in the future, hahaha, yea right....... yea, ive been fukin wit beat thang, it samples vinyl so fast and painless I couldnt believe it, its still got sum bugs but the one unbuggy part is the sampling, i just started messing with that a few days ago and i have not been able to stop, so much faster then sampling with the mp im really rooting for these guys, I dont think i will be buying the hardware, ima buy a macbook instead, but the software is totally worth it now, and its only gonna get better,. you should definitely read the manual which is only 32 short pages long, read the quick keys, and get the trial version, hit up there forums if ya got any questions
