okay this is a *itch

Grouphome was so kind to give me the right cabling instructions:

"connect the midi in and out from the ASR to midi in 1 on the mpc and midi out A on the mpc (midi in goes to out)
Out B on the mpc goes to SE1
Out C ont the mpc goes to the audiofire (you can also connect the output of the audiofire midi to the mpc to have some extra functions that i'm not goin into today)"

the only thing i changed is, i use a 2x Midi to USB Cable to the MAC instead of traditiona midi cable to the Audiofire, because i had troubles with the AF Midi timing in the past, where a MIDI-USB Connection gave me tight timing

i have it all hooked up (cables) the way mentioned above, tried around with the MMC and MTC settings in Logic, and tried around (without leaving changes) in the ASR 10 Midi (as far as i know the Midi Mode = MULTI is correct.

but i cant get no controlling function so far into Logic (like controlling a VST wich would be my first thing to try and set up)

any help?

MPC 60 Midi Default channels is set to 1A
Midi Soft Thru = ON

i dont see more settings in this context that i d know matter

thanks for chiming in

just to make sure

the setting you are suggesting does include having the MPC 60 as MASTER Sequencer and slaving the ASR + Logic to it

+ having the ASR keys to controll VSTI`s at the same time

yes?

and nothign to setup in the 60 at all???

Yes MPC as Master
ASR will be able to trigger sounds from the MPC and Logic,
and MPC will be able to Trigger from Logic and ASR by selecting the appropriate midi channel on the mpc.

Controlling VST's no, Triggering Sounds from VST's yes

Hook up a midi cable from MPC in and out to DAW in and out.

I'm going to hook back up my ASR later today and can help you further if needed.

dunno if yes, or if its essentialy that channel setting you mentioned!?

because i never messed with that enviorment window... but if thats what it takes....

put ASR on Channels 1a to 8a

put logic on Channels 1b to 16b

hmm ok i do understand what you mean... you mean in the Template in the one Enviorment Window the MPC A and MPC B graphics

but even with watching the video several times now, no idea how to set that up

hmmm

also watched this here now : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skr9ayp8 ... re=related

basicaly should do the same no?

but i cant find thise MMC etc commands in the ASR 10 and MPC 60

also my aim is not to track the channels out into logic... i shoul mention that

i have a 24 summing mixer with mutes for each channel, so i get 8 tracks from ASR, 8 from MPC and 8 from Logic

no pre-recordring into logic... only the final Stereo.

just mentioning to prevent confusion

waiting or your return Ceo

update: not able to make the ASR 10 sequencer Click to the MPC BPM

when i switch the ASR clock from INTERNAL to MIDI it stays simply in a "waiting...." position

edit. or it is slaved... i am not sure a sequence seems to stay in tune.. but had the own ASR click while recording
(btw cant find that function to stop the ASR from recording a blank bar aaargh)

great monologe ???

Switching the clock to Midi is correct.

The ASR10 is not supposed to click when being slaved to the MPC. MPC will be the Tempo Master and do the Quantize. All you are doing is using it as a sound module at this point.

You have 4 Channels of midi on the MPC A, B, C , D with 16 Parts each.
Each Channel can have 16 Tracks of midi.

Being the ASR only has 8 Tracks, you would route the midi cable to the MPC A, B, C or D channel. Your Choice. Then set up 8 tracks for it in the MPC.
(example)
Track 17 Channel B
to
Track 24 Channel B

You would do the same thing for Logic but with 16 Parts.
(example)
Track 1 Channel A
to
Track 16 Channel A

You need to set-up logic so that each each Part on the MPC (1-16) has its own Instrument track in logic.
Thats what they are doing in the video.

(following my example)
Track 1 in logic would be Triggered by going to Track 1 on the MPC.
You will be able to trigger sounds from whatever Track your MPC is on with the ASR10 Keyboard also.

Track 1 on the ASR would be Triggered by going to Track 17 on the MPC

Midi cable in and out from ASR to MPC
Midi cable in and out from Logic to MPC

i seeeeeee.. okay, sorry this stuff is completly new to me... but now you say it sounds logic.

but one question about that: should i always have all those 24 Tracks set up in the MPC or only as much as i am using and adding new ones if the Songs asks for it?

about the Clock switching to MIDI, so its correct that it stays in "waiting..." than without changing?

okay and since i switched that function in the MPC off that makes it tigger the ASR (and probably Logic aswell) with the pads, i shouldnt run into such a double-trigger issue i suppose.

OKAY, that thread is a blessing! great, why didnt i find/see that

i think almost all that is left to understand is in there EXCEPT that MMC MTC settings wich i think are still needed or not?

thanks alot mate
