Anybody ever try connecting a Behringer BCF2000 midi controller to an MPC w/JJ to control its internal mixer? I'm thinking about buying a BCF2000 or similar MIDI control mixer (Kenton) to mix tracks sequenced within the MPC. Thinking about using this live. Would it work? What is everyone's thoughts?

i dont think it will control the mpc mixer functions. i believe the bcf is designed for software controls.

The BCF2000, and the BCR2000, does have midi out. However the MPC-1000/MPC-2500 w. JJOS'es does not accept many MIDI messages other than keys, sync, cutoff, resonance, pitchbender and velocity.
You can not control the mixer. On the MPC-2000 you can control the internal mixer with external gear, i dont know if it's like that with other MPC machines

Thank you for the helpful input eimer.

Have you actually tried connecting a BCF2000 to an MPC2000? Did it work just like mixing in a DAW?

Also, you said, "on the MPC-2000 you can control the internal mixer with external gear, i dont know if it's like that with other MPC machines."

I'm thinking about picking up an mpc2000xl mcd, and would like to know your gut feeling about the 2000xl's functionality with a BCF2000 midi controller. I could test it before I buy it by plugging a BCF2000 into the 2000xl. To control the mixer, how would I set up the BCF2000 and the MPC2000xl to communicate via MIDI?

Any information you can supply would be a tremendous help.

Thanks!
