Cubase system 4

Took a trip to the music store...had a cat try to sell me the MBox...



...then promptly had a dude sh*t on the X box, and recommend Cubase system 4...anybody know anything about the system 4 part?


...Cubase I've heard of...the system comes with an audio interface, but my question is does it do midi, and is it really better than the Mbox?

A version of cubase comes with the tascam us122.... Its an audio and midi interface but beware its only a demo version called cubasis and it sucks!.. You can only record 8 tracks in the damn thing....! Cubase is a good program, I almost bought it but I went with the mbox and pro tools..... because Its a popular software and its what the majority of the studios use and most of my work is done through networking with people from louisiana who also uses pro tools......

the biggest knock on the MBox I keep hearing is the track limitation...


does it really even come into play? my deepest tracks have 22 instruments/track, and that's really 20 b/c the others are changeups for the sequences

...also does the MBox do midi? heard it doesn't.

try this link. It should answer some of your questions. I personally would not get the m-box. If you can spend a little more money & go with either the digi 001 or digi 002. I currently use Cubase SX and do not regret it. And I use to be a die hard Pro Tools advocate.

Pro tools comes with 32 tracks.....and you are right it doesn't do midi.....I use the tascam us122 for my midi....!

the Mbox seems like somebody was sittin around and was like "hmm how can we make some more dough? I got it let's sell the program for $500 and throw in this lil box that's not doing anything?
