Hey everybody. I bought a MPC a couple months ago but I've been too busy with school to really explore it, but now that I'm on vacation I was wanting to work on this remix I have planned, but I have some questions regarding some of the features of the MPC as well as general workflow.
First of all, I have several one-shots and loops recorded. What I want to know is this - is it possible to take the loops that I have an automatically timestretch them to my project's BPM? I found a BPM stretch function, where it gives you a before and after bpm, but it seems like it's off. Is there a simple way to convert my samples (which are all from the same song, same bpm) to my project bpm without pulling my hair out?
My other question is more workflow-related. I know how to do most things within the MPC, but what is the best way to arrange tracks within the MPC. I know that each "sequence" can have multiple tracks, and presumably it's better to record each part separately on a different track, right? So if I wanted to make a section that repeats so many bars I would record with on different tracks and then work on another sequence for my next part, right? And I can put the sequences in order in song mode?
Sorry if these questions sound noobish... I'm having a bit of a hard time finding information.
I am primarily going to be using the MPC for making house/techno, so I'd like to know what an efficient way of using it would be, not only for arranging, but also for live performance possibilities?

Also, are there any nifty 2000 XL "secrets" that I should know about? And WHERE IN THE HELL DO I ADJUST THE AMOUNT OF "SWING"??
