yeah I have a 3000\5000 combo and I want to switch to software because I keep all my drums and stuff on the computer so it would be easier for me I feel like but Im a sound man and I really dont see myself liking the sound of Maschine... Im into that dirty ish and the 3000 is PERFECT for that.... Another thing is the latency... you really cant notice it too much but its still noticeable compared to the MPC.... And the number one reason Ive never switched from an MPC is the sequencer, its flawless in the 5000.... crazy.....

I'm seriously concidering selling my Roland MV-8000 to get Maschine.
The only thing holding me back is want to actually go and try one out. There aren't too many music stores out here in the Middle East.

The sound shouldn't be an issue, especially once the SP1200 emulation update drops.

as long as u hava a decent audio interface.

Sometime next year I will probably overhaul my setup, so a good laptop and Maschine will be close to the top of the wishlist.

If Machine had some type of integration with the rest of the NI Software, like Kontakt, Massive etc.. this machine whould be a killer

Got the M Box 2 so shouldnt be too bad....

its true.clean poppy sound.this will not replace mpc and all wonderfull charactorfull hardware.ive tried it myself and ive had over 20 samplers.thought it would work after the guy in the shop convinced me.if you like computers youl probably groove on it like st joe.but if you want the hard bump of the mpc,no show bro.try it first.cheers

I don't use the hardware but have the VST.It's cool i guess but there are a few things i don't really like.Most of them have been mentioned already but i'll stick with the XL.I can pack up the XL and a few CF cards and go.Can't pack up the whole computer and take it with me.(i could BUT..........who would do that?)

That's where a good laptop comes in handy...

I can see me chopping, creating and playing in the studio with the hardware, then taking a laptop elsewhere (minus the controller) for arranging, mixing and mastering.

At no point in 10 years of ownership did I ever consider taking my 2000XL on the road with me as a mobile beat box.

Still I know what you mean. But lately I drag the 500 with me where I go and leave the laptop/recording gear at home. I already have enough junk to lug to work as it is.

Yeah my 500 stays in the whip. I don't know why its so slept on. Its so easy to use.

I'm bout to sell my big laptops and cop a hp mini or a 13" mbp for travel also.
