Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and I needed help because I'm going to be purchasing a used but in excellence condition MPC 1000 soon.

The guy said everything works perfect in it and I was wondering are there different versions of the MPC 1000 that I should not be buying? I heard for the 500 the old ones don't offer a headphone jack or something, is that the case for the 1000?

Another question that I have is because I will be sampling off of vinyl and I do not have a turntable yet what is another way to sample and get it on my MPC?

Thanks a lot.

The manuals will tell you if they have headphones jacks or not. I'm guessing every mpc does.

What is "or something"?

Forget about that, it was a dumb question I found it out on google.
Can someone answer my sampling question?

Microphone, tapedeck, cassettedeck, minidisk, DAT recorder, 8 track....or just download the samples from a site and put them on your MPC.

I got my MPC 1000, and it's great. I have a couple of questions though, with the MPC 1000 I'll need a CF Card, where do I put this? and what else? Some 1/4 cord I read about? what about a usb cord to connect it to my computer, I still need to install JJ OS. I'm really confused and if someone could answer my question it would be great or at least link me to a thread or site to get me started on what I need to get samples and my own sounds on my MPC 1000. The only slot I see on my MPC is at the front and it says Memory Card Slot and theres already an Akai Sound Library in it.
Thanks a lot,
Peter
