Truncate Duration

What does the truncate duration in Other Mode and its presets (as played,sequence end,sequence begining) do?
And how do these functions help when laying a beat down? ???

Make a practice beat, and use those functions you wonder about on the practice
beat, get to know your machine and experiment, practice, experiment, wash, rinse, repeat..
