This is a question that I've wanted to know for a long time but could never find the answer too. I don't own an MPC yet but wanted to know if 16 levels tuning is different from ordinary keyboard/sampler pitching?
I know it may seem like a dumb question, but the only reason I ask is that whenever I've seen it in use, it sounds (imo) better than a normal sampler pitch, almost to the effect that tuned notes sound like they were sampled at that pitch. I've even seen people do chords and it seems like each note is the same length even though they've been pitch.
Am I making any sense? If not I'll try to explain better.
