2000XL wishlist?

I apologize if this type of thread has been posted before. Let me know, and i'll delete it.

But... what are some things you wish the MPC 2000XL had that it doesn't? I honestly cannot think of much.......

maybe:

more filters, even just a high pass.
a tuner of sorts. Something simple like a guitar tuner.
some sort of amp to boost signals up to line level

please feel free to add. As you can see, it's a slow day at the office, and my mind is dreaming of sexin' those gray pads.

plus a harddrive and more RAM goddammit.

Ability to burn straight to disk(2K),Usb,and of course more filters.

All I wish it had was two more features which wouldn't be impossible...

Filters (High pass and Band would be great, but I'd settle for High Pass)...

And a gain function... When you use the low-pass filter your always left with the sample at like half the volume it's supposed to be... They should have included a Gain function in the Parameters screen from the Program Screen...

hell yeah gain on separate samples would be nice - a PROPER gain, not just that sh*tty level 127 sh*t which dont do SH*T!!

I would love to be able to resample from inside of the mpc and im not talking about changing the bit rate of the sample. Some times i come up with some good layer drums and would like to just be able to resample inside the mpc. Im using my computer to do this as of right now and its not a big problem but it would be easier to just be able to do it right inside to mpc. Im not gona buy a 1k or 4k or mv 8k to just do this but it would be nice to be able to do this.

larger ram capacity, great filter options, better time sig quantize functions, advanced envelope options and better multi/stacking options...still im after an s5k and that will do it all and much much more...

oh really? then why do i have so many problemsgeting the sample to loop and fit to the metronome?

basically sample must be chopped tight as poss...are you looping the whole sample or just a part of it?...once your happy that the loop is bang on set your loop points to 0 and the very end of your audio, turn loop on, go to parameters look at what tempo the mpc has thrown up ensuring first that you have set the number of bars right...it should tell you the tempo of the loop....set your tempo to that and when you sequence it it should be bang on...this is what ive done if ive ever needed to have a phrase loop for the whole bar but i will turn loop off and retrigger every bar with a mono or note off setting rather than have the thing loop...

it may be that the particular sample your using is quite loose and therefore doesn't match up to the rigidity of the metronome making it sound 'out'.

sometimes the mpc cuts the lasts samples off a loop so add about 30ms of air to the end...you don't always need to do this but its good practice to get into
