Hello,
Somebody told me the hard drive will be running only when LOAD/SAVE.
So when I don't LOAD/SAVE , the hard disk :
does not make noise, does not produce heat...

Is it true with OS JJ 4.99 ?

Re-up!!! Image

I searched and this was the closest thread I could find, plus it applies to me.

All you cats with HD in your 1000s or even 2500s, has your MPC ever felt like it got too hot or the HD was spinning outta control?

Thank you, and rip me a new one if I should have started a new thread.

Yeah. It spinsdown and stays in stand by untill you need to save or load something, it saves energy and is safer since banging hard on the pads with a HD running is not a very good ideia.

 Word. I was curious as to heat issues, since the 1k alone doesn't generate much, and the fact there is not really any ventilation if it did spin regularly.

Why didn't I do this sooner?
