resources?

whats up everyone. does anybody know of a way I could find some contacts around my area (southern wisconsin) so I could get some hands on tutoring with my mpc? even contacting online, just to get some help. I don't want to sell my XL

Well worth the money along with the XL manual, YouTube for free video tutorials and the search function on here.

thanks guys. I'm having trouble finding out how to connect the xl to my computer so I can transfer manipulated wavs that I have stored there. I tried buying some floppy disks and formatting them but not all of the files work when I try them. anything else you could recommend?? I know I haven't even gotten into the nuts and bolts of this thing yet; I'm just trying to put sounds into it first!

all files need to be 16bit 44khz (or less?). freeware as audicity can do this for you.
Try to score a zipdrive for file transfer or even better, a CF cardreader.

thanks! I will try this. is there a place I DL get tr-808/909 samples off the internet, put them on a floppy and transfer them to the XL? (this is what I was trying to do a few months back just to test some things out as far as programming drums goes). on a side note, does anyone know what functions artists like samiyam, flying lotus, or lone use to make the beats "wonky?"

really? you haven't heard the term wonky?? I guess it's more popular in the UK. I think you misunderstood; I'm not trying to fly solo without testing my wings here, I was just hoping someone could explain technically what some of those artists do to stutter the beat. you think I'm stupid for asking questions? you can laugh but it's the only way I can learn man I'm a drummer not a programmer, so this is all new
