I wouldnt suggested it. I would think it would burn out something on the MP quicker then if you were to turn it off when you werent using it. I've notice my ac adapter get warm when the machines turn off. I unplugged the ac adapter completely if its not in use.

I don't recommend leaving the adapter plugged whether on or off. If you're not using the machine then unplug it. You'll save money on electric bills and most of all, give the 500 some longitivity in the long run.
I left my plug in for a day once and came back to smell this horrible soul destroyin burning smell....tried to use another adaptor at the same voltage...something went wrong...and cooked my MP! so dont do it!

Only real flaw I see with the 500 is the shitty power supply. You know more then likely you'll get a short in it sooner or later. I really wish Akai would of made them of better quality and like the bigger mpcs.
