I'll post this here because I had to rename and convert 20'000 files at once and searched the forum and the web for ever till I found a solution.

So if you have to rename many files at once and just want to drag&drop the whole folder into a program and give that program the instruction how to rename'em, I found this to be useful:

Tried out alotta programs and found this was the best. It has alotta options. But still stays easy to use. It was the only one I had to install though.

And if you have to convert the bit rate of wav files or other file types into wav or whatever on a LARGE number of files, Soundforge is really the only good solution.

If your sound module/keyboard is MULTI TIMBRAL then follow along. You can apply unique midi channel
numbers to a BUNCHES of midi gear out there so don't just look at "korg tr" and move on, apply what you can to your own
shyt ya dig.

(You need to know your gears specs, look em up, I won't look them up for you, do your own
muthafreakin legwork)

Example I posted recently.

Korg TR-RACK Specifications

* Multi-timbral (number of parts): 16
* Oscillators per Voice :
o Min : 1
o Max : 2

So knowing that, give your patches/instruments on tr unique midi numbers/channels.
ie.

synth = midi channel 1
horns = midi channel 2
tomtom = midi channel 3
piano = midi channel 4
tuba = midi channel 5
bassline = midi channel 6
guitar = midi channel 7
rhodes = midi channel 8

etc. up to 16 channels in the tr.

Seq1, midi type track on mpc, trk 1 midi channel 1 for tr synth recording
Seq1, midi type track on mpc, trk 2 midi channel 2 for tr horns recording
Seq1, midi type track on mpc, trk 3 midi channel 3 for tr tomtom recording
Seq1, midi type track on mpc, trk 4 midi channel 4 for tr piano recording
Seq1, midi type track on mpc, trk 5 midi channel 5 for tr tuba recording
Seq1, midi type track on mpc, trk 6 midi channel 6 for tr bassline recording
Seq1, midi type track on mpc, trk 7 midi channel 7 for tr guitar recording
Seq1, midi type track on mpc, trk 8 midi channel 8 for tr rhodes recording

Also..this if/when you decide to convert song to seq later on.

MPC's will read your tracks assignments ONLY from the first seq in your song list.
So you'll need to have all seq's and all tracks line up exactly the same.

example

SEQ1, TRK1=SYNTH, TRK2=HORN, TRK3=TOMS, TRK4=PIANO, TRK5=TUBA, TRK6=BASSLINE, TRK7=GUITAR, TRK8=RHODES

SEQ2, TRK1=SYNTH, TRK2=HORN, TRK3=TOMS, TRK4=PIANO, TRK5=TUBA, TRK6=BASSLINE, TRK7=GUITAR, TRK8=RHODES

SEQ3, TRK1=SYNTH, TRK2=HORN, TRK3=TOMS, TRK4=PIANO, TRK5=TUBA, TRK6=BASSLINE, TRK7=GUITAR, TRK8=RHODES

SEQ4, TRK1=SYNTH, TRK2=HORN, TRK3=TOMS, TRK4=PIANO, TRK5=TUBA, TRK6=BASSLINE, TRK7=GUITAR, TRK8=RHODES

This way, the mpc will read the very first seq and track assignments and convert through
all the following seqs/trks with no problem.

Hopes this helps, now get ur lil azzes in the lab and stop asking other crazy basic questions. :lol:
