Unwanted midi noise

Hey,

Im getting a strange midi clicking/crackling noise when using my mpc to contol my keyboards? Never used to or never noticed it before. Is coming from the mpc itself but still comes through when volume is completly down and have tried using differnt midi leads different keyboards etc and still getting it.

Any thoughts would be very helpful cheers...

You might have a midi loop... ie the keyboard sends the midi note to the mpc... the mpc sends the midi to the keyboard... forever.

Check soft thru or other settings on your keyboard as you probably don't want it to pass notes from the keyboard to the MPC.

cheers for sppedy reply, yeh it must be directly related to the notes played as the click occurs as a note is played.

Just turned the soft thru off on mpc and it stopped the clicking comming from the controller keyboard when rec in but then as soon as the mpc starts sequencing it returns!!! im using a nord and microkorg for sounds but doesnt seem to be a soft thru option on either? any other thoughts?

ahh, after completely un wiring my studio and testing every pos prob I have discovered its a faulty phono lead from my kaoss pad! weird that it only occured with midi but its sorted now, thanks anyways... might as well delete the thread!
