Timestretch

How many of you guys use timestretch on the 4000? How does it stack up in terms of quality compared to VP 9000 & SP 202? Both of those machines have real-time stretch. That would be so dope on the 4000. Information I have read suggests that samples shouldn't be stretched more than 10%, otherwise they will get all sloppy..
Thoughts on timestretch anyone?

Sorry to say I dont find the timestretch in it very useful... Instead I use ak.sys and Prosoniq TimeFactory which is really nice. Yes realtime timestretch in the 4000 would be insane, although it would also have to be a bit better at stretching...

Actually the new time strech puts some samplers to shame and it makes the mpc 4000 look good and bad...

The way it has to be used is there are Time stretch settings under the tempo you want to stretch the beat from And then to whatever BPM...

Its like Dance Vocal Percussion, etc. And they all have varying degrees of algorhitims that chop the sample...

The vocal one cuts the sample more than once and puts it back together...
Meaning for every one slice they chopped it into two to make it one..
They use the syylables of a word as if it was there...
Start and End points.. So it cuts vocals more like vocals should be cut and then allows you to slow them down to varying degrees and or speed it up...


Also there are A, B, C versions of eeach setting asnd each one gives you a different qaulity of strecth and compression...


So experiment most people forget about it when trying to line up BPMs..
With kjust pitching it down...


Another big factor is where you make your start and end points that will effect its chopping points...

YOu have to look in the refrence manual for any indication of this I think

Personally, I did play around with all the settings and while it might be a better way to timestretch now than on earlier os versions it still doesnt change the fact that the algorithms isnte very good. Check the TimeFactory demo (www.prosoniq.com) and tell me its not a few hundred times better at stretching?

Personally I thik serato Pitch and time is alot better

dunno on these softwhere editors u guys are talking about but the 4k timewstreatch works just fine to me.. out of curiosity I dunno on this new 1.6os timestreach algorithm and I have no idea of what you just posted future so if you could just please explain it again in more simple terms you know for us: "out of contry folks.. thanks!
