I have some Reason Refills that came with drums in wav format do I load these samples on the MPC? Can I use a multisample if its in WAV format? How do I know if the WAV is a multisample? I found some pianos but theyre only single notes...I want to hook up a MIDI keyboard and play the MPC as if it were a keyboard...Can someone please help me?

Cmon man, help a brother out, I have the manual, I know how to load samples but I dont understand, what a multisample is...unfair that you would try to give me a stupid ass answer like go read the manual, this is a forum where I expected someone to break it down in layman's terms, maybe I dont understand the manual all that well, I just got my MPC yesterday and its kinda ridiculous when you log into a forum for resources and people point you back to where youre stuck at

if those sounds are packed up in a refill..........good luck unPACKING the MF'er.........

otherwise you gonna have to find a way to get those drums out thru reason and bouncing shit down & outta there to extract the drums from the refill......

Just because it's close to Christmas still...

With multisampling, separate samples of the same instrument (or some other sound source) are recorded at different pitches. For instance, you might record an acoustic guitar playing every E, G#, and C over a range of three octaves. Each of these samples can then be assigned to a range of MIDI keys called a key zone (see Fig. 1). If you play a low E or F, you'll trigger one sample; if you play a G# or A, you'll trigger a different sample. Because each sample is confined to a narrow key zone, the sample needs to be transposed up or down by only a few half steps from its original pitch, so it won't suffer from the type of sonic degradation caused by being transposed too far. The keyboardist can play a musical part that covers a wide range without having to worry that transposition will make the sound unrealistic.

Dude your on a computer right? They have this great little tool called "www.google.com" that won't give you sh!t for asking questions like this here.

just try it. see what happens. take you less time than bitching on here. mpc plays wavs. see if you can extract any wavs out of the files you have. that's all there is to it.

multi sample...now what the hell could that mean? multi...from the latin, i believe, for many. but you already know that because you noted it's meant to be multisample but you only see one wav file. so why are you wasting people's time? just follow through on your thought processes.

to be fair, this is the getting started forums.

let's have a little compassion.

DJ Skitz,

take some time to educate yourself.

here is an excellent book on sampling.
it explains all the different types of sampling, and lots of techniques.

It was posted in the normal 2500 forum when I wrote that but it has been moved here now.
I just mean that after doing a little research u'll find you can work a lot of your questions out for yourself.
I don't mean offence, but doing a little research for yourself and trying things out goes a long way, plus you'll end up learning more than you started out to learn.
Gratz on ur 2500 btw.

from my knowledge there is a reason refill unpacker,
BUT... youll need reason 3.0 or below for it to work as well as the unpacker itself which isnt hard to find.
Propellarhead changed up how they packed refills after 3.0, and i'm not sure if newer refills are still unpackable using this method. thats all the info i got.

my 2 cents
