So I just switched over to the free JJOS OP and now whenever I hit a pad to play a sample it plays it both when I push the pad down and when I release it. I'm sure this is a stupid problem but I searched the AKAI manual, the JJOS site and this forum and found nothing on it. Any ideas?

I assume from your response that the question I presented is a stupid one, and while I do feel stupid asking about it, I would also like to get an actual answer. Thanks in advance.

i just like saying "it's like deja vu all over again". you got to take any option you get to slip that one into the conversation. i thought the laughing emoticon would be sufficient to indicate i was just playing around.

anyway, no idea what's going on with your machine. i'd say OS problem. try reinstalling or pay up and upgrade to 0S1. the fre version isn't much use -- can't save, right?

I had this issue too last night! In mode+pad 10 thenPad (F4), I turned "Pad on level" all the way to 20. I only had this issue on the free JJOS. OS1 doesn't have this issue! I don't even think it's an issue, but rather a feather. I think it's called aftertouch or some shit!

Ah, gotcha. My B dude. Was worried I stepped into something there.

I tried messing with the pad sensitivity earlier and it didn't seem to affect much but let me try it again and see what's up. If anything I'll try reinstalling or simply buying the better edition. If that doesn't fix it though...

If anyone has any other ideas let me know and thanks for the suggestions.

Are you sure you're not double tapping? With Full Level on and the lightest touch to trigger it does it still happen?

A lot of people do come on here with this problem and it's often an issue that they are double tapping and don't realizing it.

Also...

Do you have the old or new style pads? If you grab a pad and shift it left/right do the neighbors move or stay still? The old pads won't move the neighboring pads... may or may not mean anything, but the new pads will last a lot longer.

Have you tried installing JJOS1/JJOS2/JJOS2XL just to see if this goes away? Yeah you cannot save, but at least might be worthy of a test to see if it helps. JJOS1 and higher has the ability to adjust sensitivity levels a bit better and I think JJOS2/JJOS2XL have some code added to help out with the newer pads if I remember correctly.

If you have a computer and midi software, might be worth recording the midi to see if you can see anything weird happening, like double note on events or something. It is possible that your program is setup a bit strange and could be causing this effect as well. Speaking of which... are you using programs from someplace, or making your own? Either way it *could* be useful to post your pgm/sample combo someplace to see if somebody can take a look. It might be something obvious that you didn't know to look for.

Good Luck!

I definitely wasn't double tapping. It got to the point where I would hold a pad down, wait for the sample to finish, and then release it and the sample would play again. Anyway, shit's fixed, but thanks for the post.

DJ Hellfire's post is right.
"In mode+pad 10 thenPad (F4), I turned "Pad on level" all the way to 20."

Had the same problem 15 minutes ago.

Thanks man, I had this problem and for some reason the PAD LEVELS were at 1 now i have them at 20.

Problem seems to be fixed, but there still is that odd double hit.

P.S. this is a feature lol
