what do you mean you were trying to hook up scsi? to your pc? to the mpc? what mpc do you have?

if its to your pc i wouldnt worry about it cause usb will work fine. the only thing to watch out for is that you never want to put a zip that you've partitioned on the mpc into your pc because the pc will mess up the partition data.

im not sure what will happen if you have folders on the zip (the 2kxl allows this but i personally just have a 2k) but it seems the general rule is you use an unpartitioned zip disk to transfer files from your pc to the mpc and vice versa.

like say you have a few beats on a partitioned zip disk you want to back up to your pc. you load the first one to your mpc, then save everything to your unpartitioned zip, then throw that zip into your pc drive and copy everything, then erase the unparted zip, load the next beat, and so on.

hope that was of use to you. alot of it depends on your mpc model . . .

Yeah man, sorry - I tried to find the components online to hook up the SCSI interface but I've f*cked around for so long and spent so much money on it that i've given up - end of story.

I've got the 2kXL - but i dont have any external storage for my MPC as such, i just want to save samples on a ZIP disc from my PC, then chuck that ZIP Disc into my MPC drive - i'm guessing i'm going to have to have say, 10 beats per disc or watever so all the samples and programme files will fit on it - otherwise it'd be c*nty having to load samples or programmes here there and everywhere ya know? Can I just use a non partitoned ZIP and chuck everything on the root directory? Wat are the benefits of partioning {do you mean creating folders or wat?} Also - will my MPC read folders that i've created on my PC?
