Calling it quits on the 4000!

I've struggled with this 4000 for months now. I've been on my homie's 2000xl and I just whiz right through it.
I'm seriously thinking about selling my 4000 and downgrading to the XL.
If anyone can convince me otherwise...please do.
As for now, I think the 4000 is overrated.

Whats the style of muisc are you making immortal one? Are you using alot of samples or are you using keyboard?

Why don`t you trade with your friend and let him work with it and check it out a couple months later. But if you are ready to quit, quit save up money again and maybe three years later you will come back, but it`s the user not the machine. The machine only does what you tell it. It alright to get frustrated (it means that you are learning something that you might not understand) and a few months more and BAM wow it all makes sense. All of us have gone through that steep learning curve and still climbing but, if one preserve one can master the machine, Check out suppliment guides on samplers and sequencers. Whatever your choice best of luck. You don`t need us to tell you anything, look inside your heart and ask yourself is learning this machine worth the money, time and effort you put in so far or quitting and go back to something you have already mastered better for you.

don't see why you'd do that. i work alot faster on the 4k, got too many functions to go through on the xl to get the same things finished.

I think I was just talking out of frustration. I'll give it another month or so and see if I still feel the same.

Yo, immortal one, I went through the same thing roughly about a month or 2 ago. I was contemplating selling my 4k for more "basic" equipment. The 4k is struggle to learn and I was getting frustrated with it, and I too thought it was over-rated.

After awhile it just started getting easier and quicker to work with. When that started happening I decided I was going to stick with it. Lately I haven't been using anything besides the MPC to make my beats and I love it. It has everything I need! I don't use th PC for ish...maybe just to record samples, because it's easier for me, but that's about it.

I recently used the MPC 60, and I owned the 1k previously (haven't used a 3k or 2xl yet) and all though those machines are good...I wouldn't give up my 4k for them. They are simpler and easier to use, but the 4k kicks their @$$. It's not even a contest!

Don`t worry immortal you said you are going to stick it out another two months I respect that and you should thank yourself it was an important decision for your own development. A winner never quits. But a master builds on his mistakes.
